Using an intense, vibrant palette to paint in a loosely impressionable style, Lesa Rowe is one of the South’s most exciting artistic talents. Working primarily in encaustic, hot wax and pigment mixed together, the artist’s bold, fluid brush strokes interpret familiar images in an evocative style that resonates with emotional power. The artist’s keen understanding of form, depth and light combines to create a unique, highly personal style with wide appeal.
Trained at Memphis College of Art, the artist received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from University of Memphis. Ms. Rowe worked for many years as a muralist and specialty painter for clients throughtout the Southeast and abroad before focusing exclusively on the fine arts. She lives in Memphis, Tennessee with her husband, Bob and her two children, Meri Claire and Schaefer.
